When Uncle Garth gives Njunjul the money he says that Njunjul has earnt it, for Njunjul to think about how hard everyone back home worked to get him to Sydney, and also how blackfullas can earn whitefullas gold by telling blackfulla stories. This is so important because it shows Njunjul how far he's gotten since he came to Syndey. He understands himself better and he understands now what it means to be an aboriginal, and now he looks at it as a good thing not a bad thing.
